HILLARY GRUENBERG

Press Release Blog Post Artist Statement CV

Hillary Gruenberg was a student at the Tom Wudl Studio for many years and studied painting at Otis College of Art and Design, as well as Santa Monica College. She is a recipient of the Women Painters West Scholarship Grant Award, and has shown in galleries throughout Southern California. Gruenberg’s focus is primarily on the process, not the final outcome. Her work is characterized by a unique assemblage of tactile materials, including paper, leather, fabric, paint, metal leaf, and sewing. She investigates her materials with a kind of child-like wonder, cutting, collaging, painting, stitching, and rearranging until something entirely new has been created.
