Artist Statement CV Press Release

In her work Laura Carralero (1991, Havana) systematically deals with the reminiscence of spaces. The basis of her work is the precise observation of her environment and its subsequent reduction to fundamental spatial experiences. Throughout this process, the impressions Carralero captures transform into fragmentary spaces in which fiction and reality, the well-known and the unknown coexist. Laura Carralero studied art at the Instituto Superior de Artes (ISA), Havana. Since 2010 her works has been presented in various solo and group shows in Cuba and the US. Solo exhibitions: Desierto, Estudio Taller, Havana (2017); Fundación Ludwig de Cuba, Havana (2017).
