Watch the video for Jim Jenkins’ “I Ain’t Much For Book Learnin’”, a kinetic contemporary, electronic, motor-operated sculpture made with chairs, aluminum and timed motors. This piece measures 102” x 32” x 55” and features a blue globe, a black plane, and a yellow cone that spells “DUNCE”. The stacked chairs rotate at a 180 degree angle, with the globe and hat moving in circles as the plane moves up and down. This piece speaks to Jenkins' experience as a student in grade school.
